Care & Attention ...

At Butlers Marina your cruiser is given that extra special care and attention with:-

our unique boat lifting trailer, which has a Safe Weight Limit certificate, certified to lift a maximum of 47 tons and up to 60 foot long

there is no squeezing of your superstructure and hull thus avoiding leaky windows,

our 150 hp "New Holland" tractor

(so there is no shortage of horse power).

We arrange Boat Lifting days so that we have 4 men available to ensure everything goes safely and smoothly, etc.

Our Indoor Winter Berthage Facilities provides that extra coverage to protect and maintain your cruiser from the harsh winter rain and keeps the temperature relatively constant.

Drive Slowly and Carefully

 Access Roadway

Since the 11th May, 2006, Leitrim County Council are digging up the roadway from the N4 to the Marina gates, in order to put down a new rising sewage main to service the town of Carrick on Shannon. The roadway is in a mess but hopefully it will be sorted out shortly.

On the 15th March, 2007, I was told that the County Council intends to widen the roadway and some ESB poles need to be moved before the road is finalised. Meanwhile, some stones and chippings have been put down to make the access somewhat respectable.

On the 20th June 2007, some tarmacadam was put down which improves the appearance.

Ongoing construction works continue with a new office block and housing.

On the 25th August 2008 I was told that a new footpath was to be installed on part of the roadway. Construction works continue on the Office Bulidings and housing.

Safe Driving.

Remember,

you are no longer in a hurry

when you have had an accident .

Our Boat Lifting Trailer

Getting your boat out of the water is no longer stressful on your cruiser's hull, superstructure or windows, with our unique

47 ton Safe Weight Limit (S.W.L.),

7 pad hydraulic boat trailer and our 150 hp  New Holland Tractor. (See Carreras on board - Nov. 2004).

Butlers Marina has berthage available, Annual, Summer, winter or short term -

Located just off the Dublin Road, east of Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim - Access is by way of computerised key tag recording system only - Jetties are well lit, strong comprising galvanised steel construction with teak decking, electric and water to each Berth -

Parking is plentiful with public lighting throughout, 114 cars parked on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday Weekend 2005, is still the current record.

 Our Entrance Gates

Access to Butlers Marina is through these gates which are controlled by a Computerised Key Tag System. You pay a deposit of €30 for each key tag in your name. We suggest that you keep the key tag in your car and if you have two cars put one key tag in each. (It does not help your blood pressure when you turn up and the key tag is left at home or left with the boat keys on the boat.)

How the Computerised Key Tag System Works

When you place your keytag up close to the black keytag reader on the short pole outside the gates, the red light will flash to green, the reader will bleep and the gates will begin to open. Simultaineously, the computers, both in Dublin and Carrick, will upload your name, boat name, date and time of entry, etc.

Tips and Guidance

The keytag contains a memory chip.

Do not place the keytag near a Magnet, Microwaves, etc

Do not put it in the post as the post office have scanners which will wipe its memory.
